Doral Trolley meets GPS technology

When Doral launched its first trolley in February, city leaders wanted the converted bus to have the typical look of a trolley circa the early 1900s: the wood and iron benches, brass railings and a stop bell that rings with the tug of rope.
Now six months after its debut, the lone trolley has attracted nearly double the riders than initially projected, and now boasts a GPS tracking device.
The tracking system costs the city nothing -- a Doral-based software company, Geosoft USA, reached out to city officials and provided the equipment.
